米市社区位于杭州市拱墅区米市巷街道，四界为湖墅南路、莫干山路、潮王路与文一路。社区以所在地的古地名米市巷得名。[1][4]

《西湖游览志》卷二十二记，米市巷是宋时旧名；南宋时此处米商云集，为米市所在。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网的概况一节记，社区成立于2001年4月；历史沿革一节则记为2001年2月，由清水潭、新河坝、米市巷、维元弄等四个居民区合并组成。[1][2][3]

2002年8月成立社区党委；党支部15个，在册党员共418人。[2]

2023年1月，社区被命名为「浙江省2022年度省级民主法治村（社区）」。[1]
