夹城巷社区位于杭州市拱墅区米市巷街道，地处古运河两侧，成立于2001年。[1][3]

社区名称取自所在地的古地名夹城巷。明代王洪在《毅斋诗文集》中解释，此地位于两城之间，因此称为夹城。[1][5]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网的历史沿革一节记，社区于2001年2月由原左家新村、长板巷两个居民区组建；其概况一节与百度百科则记为2001年3月成立。[1][2][3][4]

2009年5月，社区在全区率先建立党员服务中心。[1][3]

2011年6月，社区党委获中共杭州市委授予「杭州市先进基层党组织」称号；博雅地名网概况页另一处记为2011年7月。[2] 2012年6月，中共浙江省委授予社区党委「浙江省创先争优先进基层党组织」称号。[2]

2015年3月，司法部与民政部授予夹城巷社区「第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」称号。[1]

社区还获得「全国社区睦邻文化建设工程示范社区」「浙江省民主法治社区」「浙江省充分就业社区」「杭州市示范文明社区」等称号。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区北侧以德胜路为界，南侧以夹城巷与长板巷为界，东端在石灰坝河下，西端抵湖墅南路，总面积0．232平方千米。[2]

人口[edit]

全社区计2936户，居民现住8193人；另统计流动人口1285人与企退人员1520人。[1]

党组织的规模，博雅地名网记载两种：社区页为10个党支部、党员328人，概况一节为11个支部、党员276人，两处均未注明年份。[1][2]
