天新社区位于笕桥街道西南，地处新风路与麦庙路交叉口，2009年9月经批准成立。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

社区位于天城路与新风路交界处，由此定名。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

社区所在地块原为东方商城用地，1992年由杭州市有关单位共同开发，因招商不善，商城未能正式开业。2007年起，因杭州火车东站改造，地块动迁，改由房地产企业接手重组，2009年8月基本竣工。[2]

2009年9月27日，江干区政府批准设立笕桥镇天新社区。[2]
