笕桥社区由笕桥居民区发展而来，社区名称源于宋代称为茧桥的旧地名。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

宋代此地称茧桥，因盛产丝茧而得名，后讹写作笕桥。《咸淳临安志》记茧桥在艮山门外走马塘一带。[3][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年，这里先后建起云家井、庆丰亭、相婆弄和桥北四个居民区，随后合并为南桥、北桥两个居民区。1961年两区并为笕桥居民区，2001年建立社区。[1]
