笕桥街道地处杭州东北郊，前身为笕桥镇，境内的笕桥中央航校旧址是全国重点文物保护单位。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

隋开皇九年（589年）此地已成为较大的居民点。宋代称茧桥，后讹写作笕桥。[3][4]

宋至清时此地归仁和县辖。民国以后并入杭县，1927年起由杭州市第六区、第七区分别管辖。新中国成立初曾设笕桥区，1950年6月设笕桥乡。[4]

1958年，笕桥等乡合并为笕桥人民公社。1969年划入杭州市郊区，1976年归江干区。1985年撤乡建镇，当时下辖16个行政村、2个居民区和2个家属委员会。[4]

笕桥镇于2014年底改设为街道。2021年3月，杭州行政区划调整，此地改属上城区。[4][5]

户籍人口在2021年为6.86万人，流动人口则达12.14万人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

笕桥中央航校旧址位于机场路。中央航空学校于1931年4月16日在此成立，之后这里作为航校和军用机场使用。2006年5月25日，国务院公布其为第六批全国重点文物保护单位。[6]

笕桥机场位于横塘村一带。2000年12月28日笕桥机场停运，业务全部转至萧山机场，机场现由空军使用。[2]

明代画家戴进的故居在今笕桥相婆弄一带。[3]
